But, for most people, their primary reason for doing yoga will change. Yoga offers self-reflection, the practice of kindness and self-compassion, and continued growth and self-awareness. But the truth is that the practice of yoga is not only about changing the brain, body, headstands, or even about gaining greater happiness and joy.
Yoga aims toward transcendence of all those things. In a culture in which we rush from one day to the next, constantly trying to change our health, our body, or our emotions, or to plan our future, yoga opens up the possibility of connecting to what we already have — to who we already are.
When people tell me that they want to try yoga but don’t because they aren’t “flexible enough,” I tell them yoga isn’t about attaining the perfect pose. Use as many blocks as you need. Modify the pose to feel comfortable in your own body. It’s not about being “good enough” or “right”: Yoga is about removing any judgment and letting us be present to who we are now.

Styles Of Yoga We Offer
Vinyasa is synchronising breath to movement. As we move through our postures, or asanas, we fuel our body with efficient breath. This breath, or Prana, is considered in yogic terms our vital energy.
Our 2 Vinyasa styles are:
Moving through the sequence with slow, controlled, mindful movements. This class focuses on alignment, and breath. Postures are generally held for longer periods, and the transitions between poses are a little slower.
Suitable for beginners through to advanced.
We up the intensity here, coming through the vinyasa flow a little faster, creating heat in the body.
This class is for yogi’s with a little previous practice. An opportunity to challenge yourself, playing around with some advanced postures.
The opposite of our Yang practice. Yin is a restorative class, holding our postures for a lengthened period of time. Optional use of props (bolsters, blocks, blankets). Yin creates a stretch of the deep internal fascia, or connective tissue. Allowing an unobstructed flow of Chi or Pranic energy, thus promoting wellness. Yin allows us the opportunity to come deeper in to ourselves.

Each class at Skintopia ends with 5 – 10 minutes of Savasana.
Savasana will train you in the art of relaxation, an essential quality for meditation and a true experience of yoga.
